Параллельно обработке земли ребята решили заняться и обеспечением собственной системы расчётов и системы управлением города. Для чего был выпущен свой коин, City Chain . Владельцам земли насыпали чуть монет. Монета кажется логичным естественным развитием проекта для построения взаимоотношений в будущем городе.

We are very excited and happy to inform that we have now officially released our own blockchain.

The planing of the blockchain project started in 2015 at the same time we started the Liberstad project. It has been almost one year since we started the development of City Chain and we have now been running the test-net for about 3 months.

On October 2nd we launched the official main-net of City Chain and the blockchain is now live and running.

 

 

City Chain is not developed directly by Liberstad Drift AS but a separate organisation called City Chain Foundation. Sondre who has done the coding for the blockchain is CTO and chairman of the Foundation.

 

City Chain is the name of the blockchain and City Coin (CITY) is the name of the cryptocurrency that runs on the blockchain.

 

The wallet is called City Hub and will be much more than just a wallet for Citycoins.

 

We are only in the very beginning of this exciting adventure and City Coin is only the first application on the City Chain. We hope this can bring in some needed capital to continue the development of City Chain, City Hub and the Smart City Platform.

 

City Chain is much much more then just a blockchain for cryptocurrency. It is the beginning of the Smart City Platform which will include many different services built on top of City Chain and/or integrated with other blockchains. It will include property and vehicle registration, identification system, smart-contracts, insurance and more.

 

We are building City Chain for many reasons.

  • Many of the services we want to offer and provide through this system is today monopolized by governments and is therefor ineffective, dishonest, corrupt and "expensive", if you can use that word for extortion. But with the rise of cryptocurrencies and decentralized blochchains we can provide these and many other services much more effective, cost efficient and most important transparent, honest and incorruptible.
  • We want to use the capital we make from this project to continue the development of Liberstad and also start and help to establish other private cities and private communities based on voluntaryism.
  • We want to make it easier to run a business without the need for the banking-system or government.

 

City Coin and City Chain is based on Stratis which is another blockchain project. It is a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) coin, meaning it does not use mining (Proof-of-Work (PoW)) to confirm transactions and blocks. This means that there is no enormous power consumption and no need for specialized computer hardware to secure the network. Anyone and everyone can help secure the network and get the staking rewards that is equivalent to what miners receive for securing Proof-of-Work blockchains.

 

If you have City Coin in your wallet you can stake them which helps secure the network and you will get staking rewards if your computer finds a block. You can look at it like interest on your savings.

 

City Coin is premined. Premine means that many of the coins have already been minted and has been donated to 3 separate Funds.

 

The three funds are:

  1. City Chain Foundation - City Chain Foundation is a non-profit organization that help develop and maintain the City Chain and the Smart City Platform.
  2. Private City Fund - Private City Fund is a global and independent foundation that funds planning, development and establishment of private cities and communities.
  3. Private Business Incubator Program (PCBIP) - PCBIP is a foundation that helps new and startup companies with financial, management, office and infrastructure support in an incubator-program.

 

The coins are donated with the intention to last 200 years, with yearly transactions to the funds to pay for donations and operations.

 

The rest of the coins will be issued as staking rewards to anyone participating in securing the network.

 

As mentioned we are only in the very beginning of this project and we still have a lot of work ahead before we are ready for promoting and marketing City Coin.

 

We are in the process of setting up a couple of new companies in Liberstad where one of them is Liberstad Block Exchange AS (LBX). An exchange for buying and selling City Coin and other cryptocurrencies. In the future it will also be a stock- and security exchange for Crypto Companies registered on City Chain. Crypto Companies (CC) registered on the City Chain will be able to easily issue their own stocks and securities and sell them on LBX.

 

The trading-platform for the LBX website is under development and it is currently only possible to buy Citycoins for Bitcoin.

Our estimate for starting construction in the cabin/housing area is the summer of 2020, but this is not guaranteed. It’s is ultimately up to the local governments rezoning approval. Because of the current situation with the municipalities it might take longer than expected to get the rezoning plans approved. 

There is an ongoing effort to centralize the municipalities in Norway and merge several of the smaller ones together. Marnardal, which is the municipality where Liberstad is located, will no longer exist after this year and will be merged with two other municipalities.

We don’t know for sure if this will cause any delays for us, but we have to be prepared that it might take a bit longer than first planned.

Какой же феерический бред написан в статье) Это, кстати, видимо перевод статьи с bitcoin.com.

 

"Недавно в городе запретили все виды наличных и переключились на криптовалюту CITY Coin в качестве единственного средства обмена." -  во-первых City Coin просто назвали официальным средством обмена. Никто не собирается запрещать какие-либо средства оплаты, это же либертарианский город. При помощи CITY Coin будет рекомендоваться платить за различные услуги города, чтобы эти средства было проще отслеживать. Но кто кому запретил оплачивать что наличкой, и кто куда переключился, если в городе на данный момент живёт две семьи, 6-7 человек которые как раз всё там и строят.

 

А это что за картинка?

У Либерстада есть только речка неподалёку, и небольшое достаточно заросшее озеро, при это хоть местность и холмистая, но никаких гор. А, гугл говорит, что это Лофотенские острова в Норвегии. Ну а что, и там и там Норвегия, почему не вставить картинку.

Один из покупателей участка в Либерстаде, бразилец Edson Brusque, взял интервью у создателя проекта, John Holmesland, и спросил о многих интересующих всех вопросах: как пришла в голову такая идея, насколько это законно, как будет производиться внешняя и внутренняя торговля, куда будет утилизироваться мусор и откуда будет браться электроэнергия, как к этому относятся жители близлежащих деревень (en+pt):

Liberstad хочет докупить ещё земли, чтобы соединить два разрозненных участка, и продаёт ещё участки.

24 мая на основателя Liberstad Джона и его жену Сабрину напал бывший работник либерстада Espen Holmesland, его отчим и его мать. Они пытались завладеть инструментами и машинами/тракторами, так как считали, что им недозаплатили за работу, и они имеют право на данное имущество. После того, как завладеть ими не удалось, они начали бить Джона железным прутом, а после оказания сопротивления сами вызвали полицию. 

Печальные события перед вторым праздником открытых дверей в Либерстад. Подробности инцидента Джон попросил не разглашать до конца ведения следствия.

Liberstad has expanded!

Liberstad starts the new year by adding an additional 40.000 sqm of land to it’s property. During the Christmas Holidays we have purchased one of the two neighboring proprieties that was mentioned in a previous blog post.

The landmass is not very big, but very important for us to acquire for several reasons. The property is located on the northern side of Liberstad and crosses the road at the entrance to Liberstad. 

It also includes a larger waterstream and waterfall leading down to the Mandal river and also a fairly large sandpit that that will provided us with good clean sand which is needed for many construction projects.

This property is also part of a larger parking area we have been planning. On the property is also a residential house, a guest house and a large garage/shed.

We are very happy that we finally managed to acquire this property and include it into Liberstad.

Из-за объединения муниципалитетов, вся работа по донесению идеи Либерстада до прошлого руководства пошла на смарку. Слава богу есть решение. Можно использовать zoning exception, который нельзя отклонить, если соседи не против. А с соседями всё договорено.

I apologize that I haven't posted any updates about the rezoning process earlier, but we have made some changes to our plans going forward and I didn't want to share this information before we were sure about our new plans.

Since the merge of the municipalities we've had to start our dialog all over again with the new municipality council. This was very unfortunate for us as we had spent a lot of time and work trying to convince the previous municipality council about our plans.
They were finally starting to grasp the concept of Liberstad and was starting to be positive to our development plans.

Unfortunately all our work and effort with the previous municipality council was all in vain as they no longer exist.

Since the merge of the municipalities we've had several meetings with politicians and bureaucrats from the new municipality, but we have been left with the impression that they do not like the project and our plans and will do what they can to stop any further development.

Because of this we have now chosen to halt our rezoning proposal for the time being and we do not want to waste time and money on a proposal that we believe will be denied anyway.

Given our impression of the new municipality we do not believe that they would vote in favor of a rezoning of Liberstad. The rezoning application and proposal would cost us up to 500.000 kroner which will be lost if we are denied. The processing time of the rezoning proposal would also take up to two years which we are not willing to wait.

Because of this we have now chosen to take a different path when it comes to the development of the plots in the housing/cabin area.

We will instead apply for what is called zoning exception. A zoning exception is much more likely to be approved and will only cost a fraction of what a rezoning proposal would. In addition the processing time is only a few months and the municipality can not really deny us exception unless the neighbors of Liberstad make a complaint.
Fortunately all our neighbors are very positive to Liberstad and our development plans and we are very optimistic when it comes to a zoning exception.

The application for zoning exception for the cabin/housing area will be submitted in the near future and we might be able to get it approved within the summer.

Regardless of this we will start the division and allocation of plots in the cabin area this summer. We have been working on the construction of the road up to the cabin/housing area and we expect this to be drivable this summer. This means that landowners can start to choose location for their plots very soon. 

I will write a new blog post about this and other information very soon. We have been very busy with so many things the last year and we have lots of news and updates to share with you all.

We never believed that the initial startup of Liberstad would be easy and we are always prepared for hardship and problems from politicians and government. But we do not really care too much about this as we will continue to work and develop the Liberstad project regardless of the governments opinion.

We hope you will all bear with us despite our challenges and the extra time this takes.

A zoning exception, on the other hand, is an exception from the current zoning regulation. Meaning that we will not change the current zoning of the property which is now limited to agriculture operations. But instead we will ask for an exception to build cabins under the current zoning plan. Most of Liberstad (common areas) will therefor continue to be zoned as agriculture land. 
This also has other advantages for us now in the beginning. 

Zoning exceptions is how most people sell cabin/house plots from a larger farmland, and is a very common way of developing a cabin-area. 

There is usually a limit to how much of an agriculture property you can get exception for, but given that Liberstad is a very large property and there is no exception give to this property prior, it is very likely that we will get approval for some areas to start building.

Rezoning of entire properties are usually done by larger construction companies that is developing a residential area, industrial area and such.  And as I have noticed these companies usual have owners or board-members firmly placed in the local government council, in addition to lawyers and consultants and last but not least capital.

At this time it would be too risky to try and rezone the entire Liberstad.

So applying for zoning exception is a much more realistic and faster way of getting started with developing the cabin area. 

In the long term we will continue working to have the entire land of Liberstad rezoned to housing/business.

 

Difference between "houses" and "cabins".

The basic rule is that a cabin plot or a recreational plot is not for permanent residency. The cabin or house can be the same size as an ordinary residential house and there is no particular size limit. 
Drilling water wells is ok and is the most common way to have water on a cabin.

The size of you cabin is usually limited to what your neighbors allow or building requirements/limitations in the purchasing contract and deed.

The main difference is that one is not allowed to use a cabin/recreational plot as a permanent residency. You can however live on your cabin all year as long as you have your a permanent residency somewhere else.

The finishing touches on one of the parking areas, this is close to The Pit. Need a top layer to finish it of that we must buy and get transported. From here you have a few meters to The Pit, which we will finish soon. It's an outdoor area with a fire pit, seating, intimate concert stage, flowers and walkway to the Anarchy Park. Also from this parking, we are building a new walkway that goes up into the forest all the way up to our lake at the top of the mountain.
