If you searched for “Variational points OTC”, you probably want to sell Omni points before the token launches or buy into the VAR airdrop without trading yourself. Here is how this market works and where people lose money.
What Variational points are
Omni is the perpetuals app of Variational, a derivatives protocol on Arbitrum. It charges no trading commission, and traders pay only the spread. The Omni points program started on December 17, 2025 with 3 million points handed out retroactively, and since then 150,000 points are distributed every Friday for the previous week's trading. The full rules are in the official points docs.
People collect points because they turn into tokens. On September 24, 2026 Variational announced that 32% of the VAR supply will go to points holders as a Genesis Distribution, split in proportion to points and fully unlocked at TGE. Weekly distributions continue until the launch. To claim, an account needs at least one point and has to sign the VAR terms.
How points OTC works when points can't move
Variational's help center says points are tied to one wallet address and can't be moved. So every OTC deal takes one of two shapes.
The common one is a forward deal. Buyer and seller fix a price per point today, and after TGE the seller sends the buyer the VAR their points became. Until then the money waits in escrow, or nowhere if the two sides simply trust each other.
The other shape is selling the whole wallet with its private key, which is the riskiest option.
Where Variational points trade
cp0x OTC runs in our Telegram bot @cp0x_v2_bot. You post a buy or sell order for Variational, and it appears in the bot's order book. Once you find a counterparty, the admin @garryaxe opens a chat with both sides, where you agree the price, size, collateral and other deal terms. Both sides then send collateral in ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum or another EVM network to the cp0x multisig 0x72962B8eaB7687e3ec43A9D509c052c7247B1269, and the deal is locked once the admin confirms both deposits. We recommend double collateral, with each side posting 100% of the deal, and if one side breaks the deal, its collateral goes to the other, with cp0x acting as guarantor. Other terms are possible by agreement. The fee is charged on the deal size rather than on total collateral, 2% below $50,000 with a $50 minimum, 1.5% up to $200,000 and 1% above.
Variational Points OTC is a desk run by @Vargan0x with a Telegram group of about 880 members. Orders go by DM to @Vargan0x, there is no minimum size, and once a trade is matched both sides post USDC collateral to a public multisig on Arbitrum. At TGE the seller sends the tokens, and if they don't, the buyer receives the seller's collateral.
Crossdesk works the same way. Orders are taken in Telegram by @0xpol06, both sides lock collateral in a multisig on Arbitrum, and fees fall from 2% to 1.25% above $50,000. Its book is mirrored on TimberJ.
Whales Market lists the future VAR token rather than points, and as of October 25 it is still in the Upcoming section. Aspecta and Polymarket show a price on VAR but don't let you sell points.
Prices: what has been visible
We don't forecast where VAR will list. The table collects prices from the cp0x bot, another desk's reports and the press. In all these deals the buyer gets tokens only after TGE, so the prices are what the sides agreed to pay today for a delivery still ahead.

Risks
Scams in Telegram and X
In a year of running the cp0x OTC chat we have seen the same patterns again and again. The most common is a clone of an escrow admin. Seconds after you post an order, someone with the same avatar and almost the same username as a real admin, one letter swapped, writes to you, offers to arrange the deal, and asks for collateral at their own address. Clones also drag out talks to push terms that suit them. Check the exact username and the Telegram user ID, not the name and avatar, and treat a deal chat as real only if its admin is on the escrow list in the pinned rules. Anyone can post an order in any bot, ours included, so an order is only an offer until both sides lock collateral in escrow, which is why we recommend double collateral. With partial collateral a side can simply refuse to pay the rest on settlement day, and small deals done directly to save the escrow fee are where people lose most often. Closer to launch, expect fake claim sites, and since the claim procedure isn't published yet, any claim link from a chat is fake.
What Variational's rules say about transferring points
Variational's Terms of Use (updated September 11, 2026) don't mention OTC, but two clauses apply. Section 3.L says points “shall not be deemed as having any intrinsic value” and can be retracted or cancelled at the company's discretion. Section 2.C.iii says plainly that “you may not transfer your rights and obligations to use the Platform.” So a wallet sale breaks the rules outright, and a forward deal isn't approved by Variational either, it is simply a private contract between buyer and seller.
Points may not count at conversion
Even an honest seller can fail to deliver, since points can be cut for wash trading or multi-account farming. Variational already moved the launch from Q3 to Q4 2026, so collateral can stay locked longer than planned. The exact amount of VAR per point is also unknown until the end, so buying 100 points doesn't mean getting 100 VAR. And if VAR lists far above the deal price, the seller's collateral may be worth less than the tokens the buyer was promised, which tempts a seller to walk away.
Checklist if you still want to buy or sell
- Treat every order as unverified, and trade only through escrow where both sides lock collateral, ideally 100% each. Check the escrow address yourself rather than trusting a screenshot.
- Contact a desk only through the handles in its pinned rules, and check the admin's exact username and Telegram ID before sending anything.
- Fix in writing the price, what is delivered and when, and what happens if TGE slips or points are cut.
- Don't pay first without escrow, don't buy wallets or seed phrases, don't connect your wallet to claim links from chats, and treat any price far below the market as a warning sign.
Alternative: farm points yourself through cp0x
Instead of buying points and carrying counterparty risk, you can earn them on Omni directly. Signing up with the cp0x link (code OMNICP0X) gives a 18% points boost, Silver tier for 90 days and access to cp0x trading races. Since Omni has no trading commission, the tier doesn't cut fees. It adds a further 1% points boost and normally needs $5 million in monthly volume. You still pay spreads and can lose on leverage, but the points are yours.
Join Variational Omni through cp0x. Deal terms are on the cp0x deal page, and results of people who joined are on the deal stats page.

FAQ
- How much is a Variational point worth?
- There is no official price. Deals agreed in the cp0x bot between September 24 and October 7, 2026 ranged from $20 to $26.50 per point, and the latest orders there stood at $24 to $25. Some sales elsewhere around October 1 reached $40 to $44. Ask for a fresh quote before trading.
- Can I sell my Variational points?
- Points can't be moved, because they are tied to the wallet. You can agree a forward sale through an escrow desk and deliver VAR after TGE, while selling the wallet breaks Variational's terms.
- Where is Variational points OTC traded?
- On escrow desks in Telegram, namely the cp0x OTC bot @cp0x_v2_bot, Variational Points OTC (@Vargan0x) and Crossdesk, and in private deals on Telegram and X.
- Is buying Variational points OTC safe?
- It isn't fully safe. Escrow lowers counterparty risk, but points can be cut, TGE can slip, and Variational doesn't protect these deals.
- How much VAR will one point give?
- Nobody knows yet. Points holders get 32% of the supply in proportion to their points, but the final number of points, and so VAR per point, is known only at TGE.
- When is the Variational TGE?
- Variational has said the VAR TGE will happen in Q4 2026. As of October 25, 2026 there is no exact date.
